Getting to London for Oasis’ first reunion show at Wembley just got a little more… electric.
Train operator LNER has announced a one-off She’s Electric service running from Edinburgh to London King’s Cross on July 25, specially timed for fans heading to the opening night of the band’s historic return.
Departing from Edinburgh Waverley at 9am and arriving in London by lunchtime, the train will make stops at Newcastle, Durham, Darlington, Northallerton, York, Doncaster, Newark Northgate and Peterborough. On board, fans can expect “a number of surprises” to mark the occasion.
The choice of name won’t go unnoticed by anyone who knows their Oasis tracks – and neither will the significance of the route. King’s Cross isn’t just a convenient arrival point: it’s Oasis history. Just around the corner is the pub where the band played their first ever London gig in January 1994, while the Supersonic video was famously shot on a rooftop nearby, with the station itself in the background.
“There are plenty of Oasis fans at LNER and we couldn’t let the first London gig go off without marking the occasion,” said an LNER spokesperson. “There will be a few surprises on board that will hopefully make our customers feel like a Rock N Roll Star, and while our trains might not be supersonic, they’ll whizz Oasis fans to London faster than a cannonball.”
The July 25 show will see Liam and Noel Gallagher perform together for the first time in 16 years, kicking off a tour that includes multiple dates at Manchester’s Heaton Park, London’s Wembley Stadium, Cardiff’s Principality Stadium, Dublin’s Croke Park, and Edinburgh’s Murrayfield Stadium.
For fans heading south, She’s Electric promises more than just a train ride – it’s a high-speed pilgrimage to one of the most anticipated nights in Oasis history.
