Liam Gallagher has responded to speculation about Richard Ashcroft supporting Oasis on their highly anticipated 2025 reunion tour.
After a fan on X/Twitter asked if Ashcroft would be joining the lineup, Gallagher gave a typically enthusiastic reply: “That would be BIBLICAL”.
Ashcroft, a long-time friend of the band, served as inspiration for Oasis’ 1995 hit Cast No Shadow. In a 1995 interview, Noel Gallagher mentioned how Ashcroft seemed to be “born at the wrong time and in the wrong place,” which inspired the song. Ashcroft and Liam later collaborated on the 2022 single C’mon People (We’re Making It Now), and Ashcroft made a guest appearance during Gallagher’s headlining show at Finsbury Park in 2018. The Verve also toured with Oasis in the early 90s, and they opened for the band at London’s Earl’s Court in 1997.
Gallagher has hinted that he’s looking for “established acts” to join them on the tour. Though no confirmations have been made, a source claims that Liam is keen on securing big names to make the reunion even more special. The exact lineup is still under discussion.
Speculation is growing over potential support acts. Blossoms fueled rumors after their own concert screens featured the same teaser for Oasis’ reunion as Liam and Noel had shared. The Stockport band, who previously supported Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, might be in the mix. Kasabian’s Serge Pizzorno has also been linked, after being spotted backstage with Liam’s guitarist Bonehead at Reading Festival. Meanwhile, the Manic Street Preachers, who opened for Oasis during their historic Knebworth 1995 shows, recently teased new music, leading some to wonder if they’ll be included again.
One band that won’t be part of the tour is Fontaines D.C., who made it clear they have no interest. Responding to a fan on X/Twitter who suggested they could join the lineup, Liam bluntly dismissed the idea, stating: “Fuck them little spunkbubbles I’ve seen better dressed ROADIES.”
